Autobot Springer Makes Epic First Appearance In Robert Kirkman & Lorenzo De Felici’s Void Rivals #9

Skybound and Image Comics, in partnership with leading toy and game company Hasbro, have announced that the beloved TRANSFORMERS character Springer will make a debut in Void Rivals #9. This exciting addition comes from the highly talented team of Robert Kirkman (known for Invincible and The Walking Dead), Lorenzo De Felici (Kroma), colorist Matheus Lopes (Step by Bloody Step), and letterer Rus Wooton (Fire Power). Comic book shops will have Void Rivals #9 available for fans on May 1, 2024.

Each issue of Void Rivals takes readers deeper into this thrilling new world, introducing more familiar faces along the way. Void Rivals #6 concluded the first story arc last fall with a shocking ending, and now the series is set to resume with issue #7 on March 6 to kick off the second arc.

In Void Rivals #9, characters Darak and Solila struggle for survival within the wasteland until they encounter Springer – the first appearance of this beloved Triple-Changer Autobot in the Energon Universe!

“If you need a reminder, Void Rivals continues to introduce fan-favorite characters while exploring exciting new aspects of the Energon Universe,” stated Sean Mackiewicz, SVP and Publisher at Skybound. “We’re only halfway through this arc, so expect plenty more surprises to come.”

The Energon Universe began last summer with the surprise debut of the iconic TRANSFORMERS character Jetfire in Void Rivals #1 by Robert Kirkman, Lorenzo De Felici, and Mateus Lopes. This marked the start of a remarkable collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, with TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE comics finding a new home with the publisher. Additionally, TRANSFORMERS, a brand-new era for the franchise, commenced under the talented writer and artist Daniel Warren Johnson (known for Extremity, Do a Powerbomb, and DC’s Wonder Woman: Dead Earth) and colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon). The Energon Universe has recently expanded further with the introduction of Duke, a limited series by Joshua Williamson (DC’s Superman, Dark Ride), Tom Reilly (The Thing), and Jordie Bellaire (W0rldtr33), as well as Cobra Commander by Joshua Williamson, Andrea Milana (Impact Winter: Rook), and Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song). Fans can anticipate captivating moments in each Energon Universe issue as secrets are unveiled on the path to answering the most significant questions.
