Best of GeekFest 2019/Year 6 – Rhode Island Comic Con

This year at RICC I have the pleasure of hosting the GeekFest Film Fest at the Waterplace Ballroom – Omni Hotel Second Level. Come on through and check out these amazing films by some uber talented folks. Grab a brew, a snack and hang out, at the end you will get to vote for your favorite. Take a look at what will be shown below:

Paleonaut (Eric McEver, 16 mins) A scientist studying the first human time traveller falls in love with her subject. But if her research succeeds they will become separated by eons of history. She must find a way to connect with him across the ages or lose him forever. Starring Tomoko Hayakawa, Yasushi Takada, Eric Boardman, Balaji Manohar.

Star Wars: The Toys Awaken (Raymond Montemayor, 7 mins) On the opening night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a seven-year-old girl“s Star Wars toys come to life. They learn who they are and set off on an adventure to help their young companion as she heads out to watch The Force Awakens. Starring Edwin Frank Ortiz, Taylor Koster, Whitton Frank, Robert Nixon, David S. Dawson, Maliya Montemayor, Nora Montemayor, Raymond Montemayor, Cecilia Martin.

The Lightsaber Maker (Jeremy Brown, 12 mins) Valin Horn is the galaxy“s only maker of Artisanal Lightsabers. This is his story. Starring Scott Patey

Narcoleap (Kate Green, 9 mins) When college student Kelsey Atkins unexpectedly begins to leap into the bodies of other people during her bouts of narcolepsy, she becomes a target in the deadly world of military espionage. Starring Chelsey Reist, Madison Smith, Austin Eckert, Aleks Paunovic, Nicole Oliver.

Hot N Nerdy (Robert Vornkahl, 15 mins) A nostalgic sitcom pilot about two socially awkward comic nerds whose lives are completely changed when they“re befriended by the first girl they“ve ever seen at a comic book convention. Set in the year 2000, this is a heartfelt and humorous look back at a time before cons went mainstream. Starring Galya Loeb, Justin Chesney, Keland Alaka“i Sarno, Chandler Lovelle, Jonathan Hyppolite, Bella McGrath, Paolo Kossi. RATED PG-13

CC (Kailey Spear, Sam Spear, 14 mins) AIDCC28002025, known as CC, is an AID (Artificially Intelligent Device). She has been leased by Cloverhill Nanny Agency to Lena Howard to take care of her daughter, Adelaide. When a violent incident occurs between CC and Lena, an investigative team must determine what happened. Starring Jewel Staite, Sharon Taylor, Audrey Wise Alvarez RATED PG-13

Live (Director, Taryn O“Neill, 13 mins) An online ”˜livecaster“ with a dangerous brand has a crisis of conscience over her volatile career choice in a future world where jobs are limited and conflict is currency. Starring Taryn O“Neill, Tyler Wiseman RATED PG-13

Little Man of Steel (Larry Ziegelman, 10 mins) Lois and Clark go on their next great adventure ”“ condom-shopping. Starring Kimberly Leemans, Kyle Bares RATED PG-13

Deadpool The Musical 2 (Julian Higgings, 12 mins) He“s back! That “Merc with a Mouth”“ just can“t stop singing! This time, they“ve pulled out all the stops with an insane, action-filled medley of some of your all-time favorite Disney movie songs,  Join the R-rated, NSFW, musical mayhem as our favorite singing anti-hero, Deadpool, sings and slays his way through a series of Disney songs and superhero teams, from the X-Men to the Avengers and more.
