anime meets rap w/ Spotify trading cards of Megan Thee Stallion & Flo Milli
Spotify and leading livestream shopping platform NTWRK are collaborating to celebrate the streaming services’ “Feelin’ Myself” playlist with an exclusive trading card pack featuring anime caricatures of iconic female rappers Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice, GloRilla and Flo Milli.
Feelin’ Myself has become one of Spotify‘s most aspirational playlists for an entire generation of artists both emerging and established. As a staple in culture, it’s redefining the rap genre by being the perfect track-list for tapping into bad bitch energy, whether it’s a night out with the girls or popping off at home with friends.
Diving into the niche cultural interests of the playlist’s listeners, Spotify is spotlighting the connection between hip hop and anime culture through a social media video content series kicking off this month. These visuals are the main focus of the NTWRK x Spotify hype-worthy trading card pack which feature some of the most prominent and up-and-coming female rappers — Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice, GloRilla and Flo Milli — as modern day super heroines and as an homage to celebrating women in hip-hop.
Mimicking the character arc of anime characters like Sailor Moon, who experiences a magical girl transformation when her powers are ignited, the video series will see these artists making a similar evolvement in a new enchanting way.
The back of the cards will include the individual initials of each rapper and a barcode that leads users to the Feelin’ Myself playlist, encouraging collectors to dance along as they unveil their new pack of cards
Fans will have the chance to win the exclusive trading card pack only on the NTWRK app on December 20 at 1pm PT / 4pm ET.
