Do the Mondo Toys Real Ghostbusters Peter Venkman & Samhain Figures Justify $202?
Venkman takes on Samhain in Mondo’s Real Ghostbusters collector’s set.
Design: Peter Venkman
The look of Peter Venkman from The Real Ghostbusters cartoon is well executed. He has that animated feel which surprisingly translates well into figure form.
The sculpt doesn’t feel cheap, though both Venkman and Samhain have a vinyl-like finish. The uniform looks sharp, the No Ghost logo is cleanly applied, and the skintone is spot-on.

Design: Samhain
Samhain is almost everything fans could wish for in figure form. The towering sculpt delivers presence, but the height and design naturally limit articulation.
A flight stand or alternate lower body piece would have gone a long way. Still, the paintwork and sculpting shine—especially with the pumpkin heads (more on those in the accessories section).

Articulation
Rather than break down every joint here, check out my dedicated Shorts on articulation:

In short, the head and arm joints work great, while the waist and lower body are where compromises show. At $202, the articulation isn’t bad—but it doesn’t quite reach the premium standard many collectors expect.

Accessories

The Good:
Gloved hands for Peter.
Extra hands and heads for Samhain.
A removable proton pack.
A proton stream effect that adds energy.
A ghost trap with mini Samhain inside—one of the best touches.

The Okay:
Slimer is included, but feels too small and lacks a better way to float.
An alternate Peter head sculpt is nice, but additional expressions would have made him shine more.

The Bad:
No expressive hands for Peter, which hurts at this price point.
The cardboard cutouts of the Ghostbusters feel like filler. Casted ghost figures would have been far more exciting.

Packaging
The box design looks sharp, but unfortunately mine arrived bent during packing. At $202, presentation should feel premium, so this was a disappointment.

Final Thoughts
Mondo leans heavily into nostalgia here—and for the most part, they succeed. These are the best Real Ghostbusters figures ever produced, but not without flaws. The articulation isn’t mind-blowing, and some accessory choices feel questionable.

Are they worth the $202 price tag? That depends on what you value. If you want the most faithful Real Ghostbusters figures to date, this set delivers. If you expect perfect articulation for the price, you might feel let down.

As for me—I’ll continue to support the line. Even with the gripes, the execution proves Mondo knows how to capture the spirit of the Ghostbusters.

Bonus: Ecto-1 in Action
Figures like these really come alive when paired with display pieces. I recently reviewed how Peter Venkman fits into different vehicles, including the Eaglemoss Ecto-1, in a dedicated YouTube Short.
It’s a fun way to see how this line connects to iconic Ghostbusters vehicles while we wait for the HasLab Ecto-1 to ship.
