MCFARLANE TOYS DC MULTIVERSE DARK KNIGHTS DEATH METAL BATMAN FIGURE REVIEW
Welcome everyone. I hope you enjoyed that video intro package and bio on the Death Metal Batman. I absolutely love this McFarlane Batman figure. The story on this Bat is cool, and this figure looks tremendous! One quick note, I do not have the bike at the time of this review, but that review will be out later on this week. Let’s get the articulation out of the way on this Bruce Wayne, and then we will travel through and talk about everything else that makes this figure a pleasure to own.
Starting off with head here, we got some great movement going on all around. He can tilt side to side with no real issue. Batman can look up and down for dramatic posing as well. And he can turn side to side with really no issue. Overall simple yet effective. Looking at the upper torso, Batman’s upper torso can turn side to side. It can lean to the left and lean to the right. It goes back a good amount, and is somewhat hindered at moving forward. However, it moves around in multiple directions. The lower torso can do all of the same stuff, but it can go back quite a bit, and move forward quite a bit more.
Even though Batman has a jacket, the arms can move 360, and go in and out with no real issue. This Batman has a biceps cut, and of course those double jointed elbows toy posers get a kick out of. And let’s not forget the ball peg wrists that move up and down and rotate. The legs can do the splits with no issue.. His upper thigh doesn’t really rotate, but this Batman has lower thigh cuts which is new to me. He can kick forwards and backwards with no issues. And then we have double jointed knees, and the foot has a ball peg that hinges up and down, and rocks side to side. And then we got a toe hinge.
As far as the look of the figure is concerned, this Bat Dude has got a presence when you look at him. The profile front he side is striking, and I have not noticed any paint issues on mine. The material for the jacket is a much softer plastic material, and has some paint on the spikes. But it looks really good. The hands have some spikes sticking out of it, and the gauntlets are really nice in terms of paint and sculpt. I love the raised bat logo in the front, and think that is an awesome touch. The boots look nice and sharp, and the straps on the thighs are nice to break up the sculpt a bit. The utility belt is cool, and the bat logo on that is done really great. Overall he just looks really damn cool, and I really appreciate that a ton.
Alright, lets talk accessories for the Dark Metal Batman. He comes with the standard McFarlane base that fits the figure and keeps him standing up. Then we got the collector card with the beautiful comic artwork on it. And the bio in the back. And then we get the scythe. The wood color and wrap on it are stunning, and the blade looks really good. And the best part of this is that Batman can hold it with no real issue. It compliments the figure very well.
So the final verdict for me is a hug win. The character has a striking appearance to him that makes you want to display him, or take photos of him. I can’t wait to stick this guy on the bike and have him ride out in glory. I love the Nekron inspired look and hopeful you will too. My only minor gripe is that coat is attached, but that never stopped any customizer out there. I hope you enjoyed the review. Share your thoughts with me about the McFarlane figure, And as always head over to Comic Crusaders to get more pop culture fun at your fingertips. Thank you all so very much and enjoy the video review as well.
