McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Green Arrow: Arrow Action Figure Review

Today in the Toyverse, we stroll back down the world of McFarlane Toys and examine the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Green Arrow: Arrow Action Figure. Now before I begin, I want to extend a very special thank you to the McFarlane Toys team for sending this over. So lets go ahead and kick things off and examine the figure.

Appearance:

There are many different Arrow figures that have been produced by many different toy companies, but what separates this one from the others is both aesthetic and articulation. From my research the suit used for this figure seems to be the most iconic version. It seems to be a combination of the 3rd and fourth suit that is here in action figure form. The use of greens is done well, and the sculpted details throughout the figure shine. The buckles and pockets look great, and the compartments that are on the suit are done great too. As for the headsculpt, it looks like the actor. The domino mask is done good and conveys the man of mystery look.

Articulation:

So here is the deal, McFarlane Toys does care about articulation, but they also care about aesthetic. The overall articulation does work here. Arrow has double jointed elbows and knees, ball joints at the wrists, hands, and feet. He also sports toe hinges and ankle rockers. What interests me the most is the articulation underneath the upper body. With many Arrow figures the upper body is a statue, but the McFarlane team has built an exoskeleton like feature underneath that allows for a bend and twist forwards and backwards. The team could have phoned it in and made it like everyone else, but I appreciate the engineering here. With that being said, due to the hood, the head is limited, but not a deal breaker.

Accessories:

So in terms of added on extras, Oliver Queen does come packed with quite a bit. Of course being McFarlane, we get a DC stand and a trading card. Both which are cool. But where the figure really shines is int he other items packed in. He comes with a bow and arrow, which of course makes sense. The paint on mine is clean, and the sculpting on the bow is good too. Now the only thing I wish was that the arrow wasn’t attached to the bow, but I understand the logic. So I don’t hate it. Additionally, we also get a group of arrows and case for them. Once you put the arrows in the case, you can plug it into his back and move it around, which is nice.

So overall, I have to say this Arrow figure is pretty sweet. I will go beyond that statement and state that this is the best overall Arrow figure on the market. The appearance and accessories are the big selling point, but the articulation shouldn’t be disregarded on this one either. McFarlane Toys continues to impress, and I will continue to state that with them behind the DC license, DC collectibles are in good hands.
