McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse The Suicide Squad Collect to Build King Shark Wave Figure Review

Today in the Toyverse, I look at The Suicide Squad movie wave from McFarlane Toys. McFarlane Toys was kind enough to send this over to Comic Crusaders, so we are going to dive in and examine the whole wave. This wave of figures includes the masked Bloodsport and Peacemaker, Harley Quinn, Polka-Dot-Man, and the Connect-To-Build King Shark figure.

Harley Quinn:

By far out of this wave, the most beautiful head sculpt I have seen on a real-life figure so far in the DC Multiverse line. I honestly do not know how this figure’s head sculpt could have come out any better. The color choices work great on this. The dress has a nice sculpt and the tats on the figure came out great. The articulation on her works well enough. The dress does hinder the upper body a bit, but it is cool to see a new Harley Quinn sculpt.

BloodSport

This version of Bloodsport remains mostly unchanged from the unmasked version, but the helmet head looks cool. The oranges and blues work great, and the detail on the suit is nice. The inclusion of the two swords is a nice workaround, and overall, he looks like he is not messing around. The articulation on him is the standard but flows well for shelf posing or toy photography.

Polka-Dot-Man

This figure is the one by far that has the most eye-catching look. The painted polka dots are just something truly neat to see on an action figure. The removable googles add many display options and don’t feel out of place. The suit itself is a great representation of what we see on screen and help break up the polka dots. The coolest accessory in this set is the polka dot effect. It has some cool details on it, and the way the polka dots shoot out is awesome. The articulation functions well and will make anyone happy.

Peacemaker

Out of all the figures, including King Shark, the helmeted Peacemaker is the one I honestly enjoy the most. It’s a straightforward design that stays faithful to comic character but looks great in both movie and plastic form. The helmet head is one of the strongest features of this figure and looks tremendous. The logo is done wonderful, and the articulation works well enough for the Peacemaker. The inclusion of a sword is not what you expect but works for the figure. Justice can be served in many ways.

King Shark

Many will debate the coolest figure of the wave, but King Shark earns his crown. Once you collect all four figures, you put together the loveable but deadly King Shark. The paint looks great, the articulation works well enough, and the size is awesome. You hold this guy in your hands and you see the presence that a giant shark creature in trunks has. This is a great decision by McFarlane to give fans a cool-looking shark figure.

Overall, I love this wave, and I have yet to see the movie. I praise McFarlane Toys for being able to get these out on the shelf right as a movie is about to hit. I think it’s smart and a wonderful way for fans of the film to have some cool display pieces. Once again, a special thank you to McFarlane Toys for sending these over. With that being said, I am ready to see this movie. Hope you enjoyed today’s review.
