McFarlane Toys DC Page Punchers: Kingdom Come Superman Review
When I first spotted the Kingdom Come Superman figure at Toy Fair in the McFarlane Toys booth, I was genuinely excited. Now that I have it in hand? Still excited.
This 7-inch scale figure is part of the DC Page Punchers line, which uniquely combines action figures with comic storytelling. Packaged with a full Kingdom Come comic book and a collectible character card, this Superman gives fans a classic story and a modern sculpt in one package. He also includes a base stand and features McFarlane’s Ultra Articulation, offering up to 22 moving parts for dynamic posing and display options.
The Figure Itself
Superman is built on the Earth-2 Superman body, a buck that’s been used in previous McFarlane releases — and it works incredibly well here. The frame feels sturdy and appropriately heroic for this version of Kal-El, capturing the powerful presence of the Kingdom Come storyline.
He comes with two sets of hands: fists and open hands. The fists look fine for big hands, but the open hands still feel a bit oversized. Personally, I think a set of flight hands or an alternate head sculpt could’ve pushed this release to the next level. Still, it’s a solid offering overall.
Paint and Sculpt
The sculpt is detailed, and the paintwork does a great job of translating Alex Ross’s iconic design into figure form. The red and black chest emblem looks clean, and the subtle gray on the sides of Superman’s hair adds a nice aged touch, though I do wish the gray stood out just a little more.
The head sculpt itself is solid. It’s not necessarily mind-blowing, but it gets the job done and carries the calm-yet-determined look that Kingdom Come Superman is known for.
Accessories & Extras
In addition to the hands, comic, and card, this figure includes a wired fabric cape, which is a major highlight. It adds great display value and poses well, a welcome feature for any collector looking to get creative with flight or action shots.
While the included comic is a nice touch, I already own the trade paperback of Kingdom Come, so it doesn’t do much for me personally. That said, it’s an awesome value add for collectors new to the story or looking to keep the figure mint-in-box.
Final Thoughts
This figure doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t have to. What we get is a clean, well-executed Superman that honors one of the most legendary storylines in DC Comics history. From articulation to sculpt to shelf presence, it’s a strong entry in the Page Punchers line.
If you’re a Superman fan, a Kingdom Come enthusiast, or just looking to expand your McFarlane DC Multiverse collection, this one is worth picking up. He looks great next to the Kingdom Come Batman and feels right at home in any collector’s display.
