Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Rumble Society Hawk P-40 Figure Review

Today in the Toyverse we travel down to the world of Mezco, and examine the One:12 Collective Rumble Society Hawk P-40 figure. This Rumble Society creation has a unique presence on any toy shelf. Let’s dive in and examine this figure a bit more in depth.

The Design: 

Upon opening this figure, he immediately catches your eye. The shape of the main head is a strange sight. One part airplane, one part robotic, and the rest hammerhead shark like, Hawk is in a class of his own. The sculpting is pretty neat. I do wish the head had a sculpted mouth, but then again, it does fit in line with the whole airplane vibe. The metallic arms have some nice detail as well. As for the soft goods, I have the say the design works for the character. He has a bomber style jacket with a nice decal applied to the back. The white shirt is done nice, and cameo pants fit the character quite well. The belt looks good, but being a separate piece, I don’t think it looks as good as it could be. But the propeller design is neat.

The Articulation: 

In terms of how Hawk moves, you really can pose him around with no real issues. The head has all the movement you really need. The arms with shoulder pads don’t get in the way. The bicep cut works, as well as the double-jointed elbows. The waist articulation is solid, and have no problem getting to move in this area at all. The legs kick forwards and backward and feature a thigh swivel. Double-jointed knees are always nice, and boots move at the feet. So overall, no real complaints.

The Extras: 

Packed in this release are a multiple of fun items. The mini-comic is a nice touch and has some really great artwork to it. The One:12 Base, stand, and storage bag all work well. The dog tags are a nice touch that I pray to God that I never lose. The two fire power weapons are a nice touch. The rocket launcher is a repaint from previous releases that looks good. The rapid-fire Gatling Cannon is a hulking piece of plastic that is a lot of fun to mess around with. Also packed in with the gun are two ammo belts and cords that can plug into the figures’ main head. Also included is a wrench, a communication device, and knife. An alternate head that looks like a min-tank with articulation at the jaw. And rounding everything out are three blast effects that look great.

Overall, Hawk P-40 is a very interesting figure. He doesn’t look like anything else on my shelf, and that’s refreshing every now and then. The Rumble Society from Mezco continues to crank out great hits, and if you have the chance pick him up if that’s your jam.
