Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Thanos Figure Review

Today in the Toyverse, we travel to the Marvel Universe and examine another Mezco One:!2 Collective release. This time shit gets real as we examine the One:12 Collective Thanos. This is a very well crafted figure with a very cool light up feature. So lets examine the figure a bit more and see why this Titan is mad with power.

Appearance:

Let’s take a moment and talk about the big purple guy.. Thanos gets the Mezco treatment in terms of his look, and it’s really not too bad.  I think he has a nice appearance that blends some of the movie elements, as well as some of the comic elements. All three of the head sculpts look fantastic, and allow Thanos to be expressive on the shelf, as well as in toy photos.  The suits looks…okay.  It’s a very nice design, but I am not the biggest fan of it. The suit allows articulation to move, but at the same time, I just think something a little different in terms of material, would have made the figure stand out a bit more.  Is the sculpted shoulder chest piece came out fantastic,  And I did the magnetic properties that allow it to sit on the figure.  As for the hands and the gauntlet Is, I will talk about that more in the accessories section.  Overall, this Thanos fits in pretty good with other Mezco figures.

Articulation:

In terms of articulation, is, Thanos has some interesting things going on.  The head has a surprisingly good amount of movement for a big guy character. The body of this figure works pretty good all things considered. The figure can move side to side, up and down, and all around. Nothing super amazing, but nothing horrible either.  In terms of the arms, it’s less than normal. The figure can barely do a 45゚ angle in terms of a bend.  I wish I could do more but sadly it does not.  I am torn by this because I think it could have been pulled off bit’s been pulled off but I guess because of the design of the body they had concerns about it.  At the end of the day, it’s not a deal breaker but it would have been cool for the arms to get a little more movement than what we get.  The legs on the figure actually work quite well. We get nice bends at the knees, thigh swivel, as well as rocking and hinging at the foot, so no complaints there.

The Extras:
In terms of accessories, Thanos is packed with some fun items. We get a cosmic cube, multiple pairs of hands, and the infinity gauntlet. Now the infinity gauntlet has a nice gold paint scheme to it and it’s interchangeable Is with the gauntlet on his wrist.  You get two hands with the gauntlets. A fist, and a open hand. Both of these look good, but a snapping finger would have been nice as well. The thing that makes the gauntlet really stand out is the light up feature. Mezco includes batteries, and once placed inside of the gauntlet, the hand lights up quite nice. This for me is the thing that really makes the figure stand out, and a cool idea that was pulled off pretty good.
Overall, this figure of the Mad Titan is pretty darn impressive. Despite some of the things I personally don’t like about the figure, the general impression is that Thanos in One:12 form is pretty on the eyes. I think the thing above all else that makes the figure really special is of course the light up gauntlet. Not only does it add an extra flare, but makes him a special version of one of Marvel’s most imposing bad guys. If you can get your hands on him, don’t be afraid to pick it up.
