Mezco Toyz Rumble Society Cyber Ryder: Skeletron Edition Figure Review

Today in the Toyverse I dive into the world of Mezco Toyz. Now this isn’t a One:12 Collective review, but it’s an item fromt he Mezco catalog that caught my eye. So what could it be you ask? Well, it is the Mezco Toyz Rumble Society Cyber Ryder: Skeletron Edition Figure. The Rumble Society line from Mezco has already produced a regular version of this character, but at current time, the only one I have on hand is this one. So let’s go ahead and dive into the review and see how the Skeletron figure stacks up.

Appearance:

So what can say to start this off? This figure immediately catches your eye. It’s a figure that stands out on it’s own as something special. The design of the guy is really cool. The head sculpt has a beautiful design to it. The purple helmet is well crafted and even shows some battle damage. The Mezco touch shines bright, and the detail is great given the price point. The green mohawk has sculpted details on it, and the paint is nice and clean. The face is broken up with a skull like design, and the color of bright neon bone yellow works great. The body has nice black vest that has sculpted detail on it as well. The black is broken up with sculpted green lines that just add to the overall design of the figure. The arms have a nice light blue that create a stark contrast to the other other colors already on the pallet that make up this figure. The legs are the same as the arms, minus the boots that cover the figure. Those are done in a nice purple, much similar to the helmet in color. Now that I have that part covered, the overall design here is inspired if you will by He-Man. And I have to say, I think they pulled this off in speculator form.

Articulation:

Now in terms of articulation, Skeletron has several points of articulation to go along with the beautiful sculpt and paint. In terms of the head, it swivels around(it pops off, but more on that later,) and rotates at both arms. Now one hand actually rotates as well, but the other does not. And the other point of articulation would be both legs rotating around. So its not mind blowing articulation for the movement junkies of the world, but it doesn’t need to be either. The points that are there work well, and give you just enough to have fun with.

Accessories:

So one would think we covered the basics and we are finished with the review? The truth is this Rumble Society figure actually sports some fun items. For starters, the head can pop off. Now this serves a very important purpose as it can store his laser cannon. The laser cannon has a nice sculpt and paint job to it. Molded in black and has green paint through out it, the cannon is a fun add on. And all you need to do is pop off the hand and plug it in. And as an added bonus, you can store either the gun or the hand inside the head that pops off. Very clever and very welcomed in any figure.

Overall, I love this thing. It has a great fun factor to it, and I look forward to future editions of this character from Mezco Toyz. He looks great in photos, and looks great on a shelf. With that being said, what more could you ask for?
