Collectors today are being targeted by scalpers. They live among us. On eBay, Offer up, Mercari, and in groups online. However, one action figure collectible is out to stop the consumption, and that is John Nada. Let’s dive in and see if he is the one who can help us. Alright everyone, now that my love letter to John Carpenters They Live is out of the way, let’s talk about the Hot Rod himself, Nada. This Nada figure disguised as Roddy Piper is a real treat to have in hand from the team over at NECA, so let’s hurry on up before I run out of Bubble Gum.
The head sculpt is pretty good. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t think its the strongest Roddy Piper head sculpt on the market. But then again, for being hand sculpted and not photo laser infused, its still pretty decent. The clothing on the figure is done really well. I love the flannel shirt and think it came out great, and is amazing at the price point! The clothing on the eight inch line usually comes out great, and the flannel shirt really goes a long way making this figure a success. The belt looks pretty good too, I just wish I could get it to fit right. But my fat fingers be damned, as they have cursed me. The pants look good and have that 80’s look to them. If I am being honest, The shirt came out better than the pants, but I don’t hate it.
And as far as articulation goes, he moves pretty good at the head. Nada moves better than many of the other eight inch NECA figures I have. I do appreciate how awesome Nada can move from his upper body all the way down to his feet. Even the single bends at the elbows and knees don’t bother me. As far as accessories are concerned, you get an alternate head, shotgun, and handgun. The alternate head looks great and this is how he will appear on my self. The two guns is a nice addition for those those who want to recreate those classic movie moments.
Overall the figure delivers. It looks cool, and hits that nostalgia level in a great way. Its Its now your job to get it into peoples hands to spread the gospel. I want to extend a very special thank you to Lynth Sord for his amazing cover. Please go check it out! Save the human race before its too late.
