Super 7 ThunderCats ULTIMATES! Wave 11 Luna and Amok Review
Creepy, Cuddly, and Surprisingly Awesome!
When it comes to Super7’s Wave 11 of ThunderCats Ultimates, this duo might just be the MVPs of the line. Luna and Amok crash the scene in all their animated glory, and while one’s creepy and the other’s cuddly, they both come packed with personality, solid sculpt work, and just enough articulation to keep things interesting.
Let’s break it down.
First Impressions
No QC horror stories here. The paint is clean, the sculpt is sharp, and both figures look like they walked straight out of the cartoon. Luna might be small, but she’s all attitude. Her sculpt captures the character beautifully—even if that screaming head is going to haunt my dreams later. It’s creepy in the best way.
Amok, on the other hand, is a walking paradox. He’s terrifying and adorable at the same time, like a mutant bulldog with a heart of gold. I was expecting him to be a little bigger, to be honest, but he still has the shelf presence you’d hope for. The tail looks fantastic, and every head sculpt is well-executed.
Articulation Talk
Luna doesn’t have the craziest articulation, and yeah, she’s a little top-heavy thanks to that massive noggin. Her arms don’t bend like you’d hope, but here’s the thing—she sits on Amok like she was meant to be there. And let’s be real, most collectors are going to display her riding the big guy anyway.
Amok moves better than expected. You won’t be doing any extreme posing, but he’s mobile enough to look good standing tall, charging forward, or just being a tank. For a big chunk of plastic, he’s got enough range to make posing fun without frustration.
Accessories
Now here’s where it gets interesting. Both figures come with extra heads and hands, which is always welcome. Luna’s hands are tiny, so do yourself a favor and keep those in a safe place. Don’t sneeze near them. Don’t blink near them. Just… protect the hands.
Her whip, though? Yeah—it doesn’t want to stay put. It looks good, sure, but it’s a bit of a diva when it comes to actually staying in her hand. You’ll get it to work with some effort, but it’s definitely the one nitpick in an otherwise impressive accessory spread.
Final Thoughts
If you’re building the full Lunataks team, this set is a no-brainer. Even if you’re just here for the standout sculpts and classic cartoon love, Luna and Amok deliver more than expected. The paint’s clean, the designs are faithful, and the figures just look good together.
Honestly? This is probably Super7’s strongest duo yet from the ThunderCats line. Go check out the Youtube short to see how they size up against other lines. Then come back and tell me—are you picking these two up, or are you still holding out for the next big cat?
