Joining Bryant on the creative team is artist Don Cardenas (Spend the Night, Packs of the Lowcountry, This Nightmare Kills Fascists), whose gritty yet expressive linework brings the monsters—and the mosh pits—to life. Colorist Jason Millet (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Candyman, Paper Girls, Station 11) amps up the mood with atmospheric, cinematic tones. And editor Chris Murrin (Athena Voltaire, Ghoul Scouts, FX Networks) keeps the chaos in tune while maintaining the emotional heartbeat of the story.

For centuries, the Van Helsing family has protected humanity from things that go bump in the night. The last protector has fallen, and the mantle goes to her one surviving heir. The problem is, Evie Van Helsing just wants to rock. Volume 1 collects the series’ first arc, as Evie reluctantly resigns herself to her legacy, all while preparing for a battle of the bands showdown.

Comparable to Buffy the Vampire Slayer if she fronted a heavy metal band, Evie and the Helsings delivers a punk rock twist on classic horror tropes with the irreverent energy of Ash vs. Evil Dead and the girl-band charm of Josie and the Pussycats.
