REVIEW: A Vicious Circle Issue 2
A Vicious Circle by Boom Studios was launched late December of 2022 to much fanfare. The story is incredible as it follows Shawn Thacker, a trained assassin from the future. Every life that is taken by Thacker pushes him forward or backward in time to different eras. He is not alone in this cycle either. There is another man with the same curse that Thacker seeks revenge on. He also is pushed with Thacker to these others eras which makes for some unique experiences. They not only need to worry about each other, but these time lines they are thrust into can be very dangerous.
Issue two begins where issue one left off, Shawn fighting for his existence in the past during what looks to be the Jurassic era. What makes issue two so amazing is many of the questions left from issue one are answered. That does not mean the questions are over. There will be more!
The story line is incredible. Written by Mattson Tomlin who has written for Netflix, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures and much more. He has also written for the most recent Batman movie including the sequel and the live action BRZRKR. He has written Batman: The Imposter for DC most recently before The Vicious Cycle for Boom Studios.
The art for this title is absolutely some of the best art you will see in comics as it is breathtaking. Lee Bermejo on art has written and done art for DC Comics for titles like Lex Luthor: Man of Steel, Batman: Noel, Before Watchman, Joker just to name a few. The art in this series will blow you away.
