Act 4 Publishing & Skybound Announce Wally Wood’s EC Stories & Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Editions

Skybound and Image Comics, in partnership with Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing, announced the release of two new Artist’s Editions coming in early 2026—Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition- EXPANDED and Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition.

Coming February 2026, discover an all-new look at the work of the legendary Wally Wood as he helped change the face of comics forever at EC Comics, the groundbreaking publisher known for their industry leading horror, sci-fi, and suspense storytelling!

The Wally Wood EC Stories Artist’s Edition – EXPANDED will include all 18 stories from the long out-of-print first edition, but that’s not all. An additional 10 stories will be included for the very first time, for a staggering total of 28 complete stories, and all at the same gigantic size (15 x 22 inches!) as the original art was drawn!

Within these pages are some of Wood’s greatest artistic achievements, including his work on My World, Came the Dawn, Mars Is Heaven, Atom Bomb, Blockade, and many more! Additionally, more than a dozen classic covers by Wood are included. As an extra special bonus, the unpublished “Spawn of Venus” an EC Comics story intended for the canceled Three-Dimensional Science Fiction is included in this volume.

Then, in March 2026, dive into the second stunning half of Hellboy in Hell, issues 6-10, as well as numerous covers and story pages from multi award-winning creator Mike Mignola in this glorious, oversized Artist’s Edition!

Mike Mignola remains one of the preeminent comics creators of the past several decades. His career was already firmly established for his outstanding work on characters like Batman, Wolverine, a myriad of beautiful covers and more… And then came Hellboy. Mignola’s iconic creation struck a meteoric chord with fans from the very start and has not abated in the 30-plus years since the character’s debut.

An Artist’s Edition is an art book disguised as a comic collection. Although appearing to be in black and white, all the art is scanned in color, enabling the reader to see the work as close to the original as possible – ink gradients, blue pencil, and all the unique nuances that make original art so special – are all clearly visible and printed at the same size as drawn. The only better way to experience these pages is by looking at the artist’s drawing board, as they’re drawing.

These books represent the second wave of releases from the Act 4 Publishing and Skybound partnership. The first releases in the distribution deal will be Jim Aparo’s DC Classics Artist’s Edition and Darwyn Cooke’s The Complete Spirit Connoisseur Edition, coming in September and October 2025, respectively.

Future releases within the publishing partnership include J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist Edition, Dave Stevens’ Covers and Stories’ Connoisseur Edition, Jason Pearson’s Body Bags Artist’s Edition, Paul Smith’s Leave It to Chance Artist’s Edition. Publishing details for these books will be announced in the coming months.

Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition- EXPANDED (ISBN 978-1-5343-3514-1 | SRP $195.00) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, and at booksellers on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition (ISBN 978-1-5343-3284-3 | SRP $150.00) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, and at booksellers on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
