American Mythology Unleashes Reggie Bannister in Grindhouse Horror Comic CATCHING HELL

American Mythology proudly announces that Reggie Bannister—eternal fan favorite and immortal badass from the Phantasm franchise—is stepping back into the fight as the star of a savage new comic book series: Catching Hell.

Set to debut as a crown jewel of American Mythology’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, the first issue of Catching Hell is tentatively scheduled to hit shelves on May 27, 2026—and it pulls zero punches.

In Catching Hell, Reggie doesn’t play a superhero. He plays something far deadlier: an everyday guy who refuses to die. Armed with grit, scars, and a lifetime of bad decisions, he hunts down renegade demons that slipped through the cracks—because someone has to do the dirty work. It’s loud. It’s brutal. It’s funny in the way only horror fans understand. And it proudly wears the DNA of drive-in grindhouse, midnight movies, and the kind of monsters that don’t sparkle.

“Reggie is the soul of blue-collar horror,” said S.A. Check, author of Catching Hell. “He’s not destiny-bound. He’s not chosen. He’s just the guy still standing when the smoke clears. This book exists to celebrate that spirit—to let Reggie cut loose, crack skulls, and remind everyone why he’s a legend.”

The series is co-written by James Kuhoric, blending decades of genre storytelling into a relentless narrative engine, and features ferocious interior art by Emanuele Tommarelli, whose visuals channel the raw energy of vintage horror mags and exploitation cinema straight onto the page.

But Catching Hell isn’t just about tearing demons apart—it’s about respect. A portion of the proceeds will go toward supporting Reggie Bannister’s healthcare, giving fans a chance to give something back to a man who has given the horror community a lifetime of unforgettable performances.
