Announcing Inaugural Zine Not Dead Fest

Zine Not Dead is pleased to announce the inaugural Zine Not Dead Fest: A Comics and Small Press Fair.

Zine Not Dead Fest is a one-day event on June 15th bringing together comics and small press artists and publishers from around the world to Chicago. The exhibition will include a day of vending at Grace Church in Logan Square (3325 W Wrightwood Ave), featuring 60-80 artists & publishers, as well as a slate of panels and workshops, running from noon until 6pm. The day will conclude at Hairpin Arts Center, with a Zine Not Dead reading beginning at 8pm. Special guests include Ron Regé Jr, Patrick Kyle, Lale Westvind, Kevin Huizenga, and Project Onward. Announcement on programming will be announced soon. The event will be free and open to the public. The evening’s Zine Not Dead will be ticketed, with more information to follow. Applications to vend at Zine Not Dead Fest are open now until April 1st. Applications are free.

Zine Not Dead is a performative comics reading series in Chicago, running quarterly since 2015. Zine Not Dead encourages cartoonists & performers to find new ways to embody their work in front of live audiences. Zine Not Dead and Zine Not Dead Fest are collaborations of Chicago publishers Matt Davis, of Perfectly Acceptable Press, and Brad Rohloff, of Bred Press. Zine Not Dead Fest is also a recipient of this year’s Chicago DCASE grant.
