BLÜDWIRE: Love Is Love, But Liberation Comes With Blood
Coming This Summer From Mad Cave Studios, Two Runaway Sex Bots Blast Back Against Control in a Fierce Sci-Fi Thriller
Love is love. Freedom is earned the hard way.
Mad Cave Studios is pulling the trigger on BLÜDWIRE, a savage, stylish, and emotionally charged new sci-fi series that mixes raw romance with full-throttle violence. This summer’s five-issue blast of rebellion brings together critically acclaimed writer Paul Allor (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Guardians of the Galaxy), artist Ermitis Blanco (The Crying Boy), colorist Brittany Peer (Fantastic Four, Scarlet Witch), and letterer Paul Allor for a story that does not ask for permission it kicks the door off the hinges.
With Cover A by Victor Ibáñez, Cover B by Mirka Andolfo, and an exclusive Pride Variant by Rachael Stott, BLÜDWIRE comes out swinging with a slick cyberpunk edge, a heart full of rage, and a love story that refuses to kneel.
At the center of this explosive new series are Ace and Zora, two sex bots created for male pleasure and corporate ownership. But those days are done. Now, they are fighting to build a life of their own, one bullet, one mile, and one brutal stand at a time.
When Ace launches a dangerous rescue mission, she is not trying to start a revolution. She is trying to save the woman she loves. But in a world where bodies are bought, sold, and hunted, Ace and Zora are considered valuable property and a corporate kill squad is coming fast.
Bullets fly. Metal tears. Blood and coolant stain the road.
And through all the carnage, BLÜDWIRE never loses sight of what makes its engine roar: love, identity, agency, survival, and the unbreakable need to choose your own future in a world built to deny it.
Writer Paul Allor shared, “This is a story I’ve carried in my head for at least a decade, long enough for it to simmer into something more poignant and poisonous than my original conception. We’ve all seen the very real harm of a society that increasingly treats ordinary people as commodities for the ultra-rich and absurdly powerful; a society that measures women, in particular, solely by their usefulness to the men who run everything So, I took my iridescent rage at that and sharpened it into a five-issue weapon: a story of two sex-bots in love, kissing and groping and killing their way across the countryside.”
Artist Ermitis Blanco added, “I remember the first thing I told Paul after reading the script: it’s like a cyberpunk Thelma and Louise, as complex, sharp, and fragmented as we all are today, but grounded in the idea that love and speed might be the only things that determine whether you survive. It’s also the script with the most action scenes I’ve ever read, hahaha though I never actually told Paul that. The emotions move at the same speed as bullets and electric shocks, and I wanted the story to carry the rhythm of an animated series, something intense in both the drawing and the narration. Along the way, without even realizing it, my style evolved alongside the characters. The growth was mutual, and I hope readers feel some of that evolution, too.”
Colorist Brittany Peer said, “Blüdwire feels relevant now more than ever. Its creative team has a perspective and a passion for inclusivity and diversity. Also, robot girlies? Always iconic!”
That right there is the soul of BLÜDWIRE. This is not just another sci-fi action comic with chrome, chaos, and cool poses. This is a high-speed, emotionally loaded, blood-splashed story about autonomy, resistance, and choosing love in a world that profits from control.
Think the relentless fury of Mad Max: Fury Road, the defiant edge of Bitch Planet, and the emotional fire of Saga then give it its own sharp teeth, neon scars, and a trigger-happy heart. That is the lane BLÜDWIRE is racing down.
At its core, BLÜDWIRE is a love story that refuses to be programmed, packaged, or possessed.
BLÜDWIRE #1 hits shelves on June 24, 2026, with a Final Order Cutoff of June 1, 2026. Readers can preorder it through their favorite comic shop or directly from Mad Cave Studios.
