Coffin Comics Donates $1,000 to Sapphire Nova’s Medical Fund, Helping Longtime Lady Death Cosplayer Breathe Easier

Coffin Comics, the leading independent publisher behind Lady Death, proudly donated $1,000 to longtime Lady Death cosplayer and beloved community member Sapphire Nova during the Coffin Launch Party. In an emotional moment, Brian and Fran Pulido presented Sapphire with an oversized check as she stood in full Lady Death: Savage Reign cosplay. Overcome with gratitude, she teared up and thanked Brian and the entire Coffin community for their support.

Sapphire Nova has been a dedicated Lady Death cosplayer and a wonderful supporter of Coffin Comics for years, attending numerous in-person events and becoming a cherished figure among Coffin Fiends. However, for the past three years, she has battled LAM (Lymphangioleiomyomatosis), a rare lung disease that has forced her to rely on an oxygen tank. Despite being told by American doctors that her condition was irreversible, she has finally found hope—an advanced treatment in Mexico that could free her from needing supplemental oxygen.

Normally, Sapphire requires oxygen to make it through events, but with this treatment, she won’t have to. Inspired by her resilience and dedication to the community, Coffin Fiends and fans have rallied behind her, donating nearly 70% of her needed funds in just four days.

“Sapphire has been a part of the Coffin family for years, bringing Lady Death to life and sharing her passion with fans,” said Brian Pulido, creator of Lady Death and founder of Coffin Comics. “She’s an incredible human being, and we are honored to support her in getting the treatment she needs.”

Sapphire Nova’s GoFundMe campaign is still active, and the Coffin community encourages those who can to contribute to her life-changing medical journey. Donations can be made at: Help Give Hope to a Life Without Oxygen.
