Industry Praise Leads to a Giant-Sized Trilogy

Following the £75,000 in pledges for Chrome Roses Monty Nero is releasing the whole trilogy at giant size on Feb 3rd, 2026.

“Readers loved the detailed cyberpunk art, and this giant-sized version is like suddenly watching in IMAX,” says Monty. “It gives me an excuse to put even more detail and time into every page. Each book is half a metre high, so the detail and scale of it really hits you hard. Particularly on the double page spreads.” What started as a cool add on is now a series in its own right – featuring new covers, a new character, and a previously unseen new story. “It’s a unique format. Printing this big is expensive, but with this campaign we’ll reach new cyberpunk fans discovering the trilogy for the first time.”

The series has gained praise from some top industry names:

  • Martin Simmonds – Artist (Image, Marvel, DC) “‘With beautiful art and a killer concept, it’s a cyber punk masterpiece.”
  • John Freeman – Editor, Writer – (Marvel UK, Titan, Down the Tubes) “Bloody hell! This is is incredible! My mind is blown!”
  • Nicola Scott – Artist (Image, DC) “Look at how beautiful this book is!”
  • Rob Williams – Writer (Marvel, DC, Image, 2000ad) “Fun stuff. Monty Nero creates a relatable cyberpunk detective world that feels two seconds removed from the strains and stresses of our 2025 lives. And it also has talking cats!”
  • Patrick Goddard – Artist (Marvel & 2000ad) “Monty is really doing some stellar work here. Very much in the 2000ad way!”
  • Luke Ross – Artist (Marvel) “This is a stunning cyberpunk comic that takes us on a thrilling journey.”
  • Laurence Campbell – Artist (Hellboy B.P.R.D, Marvel, 2000ad) “A great mix of social comment, fast paced action, mystery, and satire!”

You can order the first, second, and third Giant-sized Cyberpunk Broadsheet in a few short weeks. Book 1 is already printed and will ship with the Chrome Roses print rewards shipping in March, so no waiting there.

The story features Kramm, an outcast detective, tracking down Teo, a punk vigilante, to unlock a mystery surrounding some eerie skinfreak zero-G murders.  The second issue introduces badass new character Entropy Brown In a devastating new story rendered in moody silver and red.

Art for the whole comic is hand drawn by Nero with pencils, ink, copics, airbrush and acrylic paint, with original pages of art available as rewards. “I wanted to channel the vibe of classic 80s cyberpunk, William Gibson and Phillip K Dick, while inventing something that looks and feels new,” says Monty.

“I’m mainly influenced by Blade Runner, Moebius, Hellboy comics and film noir. All those heavy black shadows, kinetic action, and a mix of short and longer stories which interlink to form a gripping ongoing narrative.”
