DARK HORSE PRESENTS LITTLE THUNDER’S STANDALONE THREE-STORY SERIES IN ENGLISH FOR THE FIRST TIME
Escape to a carefree world from your childhood with “Kylooe”
Hong Kong-based artist Little Thunder (Sisterhood, Scent of Hong Kong, Wakame & Wave) and Dark Horse Books presents the emotional and intimate three-story collection, Kylooe, presented in English for the first time with translation by Montana Kane. Little Thunder is the winner of the 2002 Best New Artist Award at the China Japan Comics Exchange. Kylooe weaves three standalone stories together that capture life, growing up, and the wonder of our world in this surreal, watercolor-style graphic novel collection. The full trilogy of Kylooe arrives in March 2025.
Each story is a self-contained exploration of the human condition. The book presents an emotional dreamworld of bittersweet love and growing up. Fans of Little Thunder’s surrealist art style will be transported into different worlds in this collection.
A typical teenager finds growing up is rough. One day, she cuts class to buy the new album from her favorite band and sees a strange, mysterious, yet familiar creature on the cover—it is Kylooe, her old friend! He’s back, he’s real, and he’ll do anything to protect her. Then, an awkward girl makes an impression on a popular teen, and they begin to connect beyond their peer statuses. Finally, in a world where expressing emotion is forbidden, people reflect on the decisions that changed their lives forever.
Dig into each of these incredible stories in one beautiful English edition of Kylooe. The 384-page (7” x 10”) paperback edition will be available at bookstores on March 25, 2025, and comic shops on March 26, 2025 for $29.99. Pre-order now from TFAW, Amazon, Barnes and Noble or your local bookstore, or visit PRH Comics or Comic Shop Locator for more details and stores near you.
