Experience the Catwalk Carnage of I WAS A FASHION SCHOOL SERIAL KILLER #1

This Spring, the acclaimed (and deranged) creative team of writer Doug Wagner and Daniel Hillyard (PlasticVinyl) will unleash an unforgettable serial killer into the world of academic high fashion. Published by Image Comics, I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer launches this April with the tale of Rennie Bathary, an accomplished designer and seamstress accepted into New York City’s most prestigious fashion school. Rennie hides an insidious secret though. Her working materials include more grisly fabrics than cotton and silk, as her homicidal urges and artistry collide in morbid works of vogue.

With Final Order Cutoff looming on March 10thImage Comics and production studio 12-Gauge Comics are releasing the first five pages of the debut issue, which will be hitting comic book shops on 4/2.

I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer is probably the most fun I’ve had twisting something beautiful into something horrifying,” explains writer and co-creator Doug Wagner. “There’s something about the precision and brutality of fashion that makes it the perfect breeding ground for murder, ego, and obsession. Think of it as Project Runway meets American Psycho (but funny).”

I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer was an absolute dream to work on—if your dreams are soaked in blood and stitched together with a killer sense of style,” continues artist and co-creator Daniel Hillyard. “I had a blast bringing this twisted story to life, balancing the elegance of high fashion with the outrageous horror and the humor that lurks beneath.”

I Was a Fashion School Serial Killer #1 arrives in comic shops and digital platforms on April 2nd, 2025.
