Green Archer Comics Launches Buck Rogers vs. the Cyber Lords on Kickstarter!
He’s Back. 56 Pages. 7 Killer Covers. And a Sky War That’ll Shake the Stars.
Now live on Kickstarter, Green Archer Comics is throwing down the gauntlet with Buck Rogers vs. the Cyber Lords, a 56-page, high-stakes, rocket-fueled one-shot that drags the iconic space hero into a new age!
Drawing from the original pulp stories by Philip Francis Nowlan, this isn’t your grandfather’s comic—it’s a rebellion dressed in retro-futurism, built for a new generation of readers who know the stakes, and sci-fi with a bold new punch.
Written by Allan Liska and Chris Fields (Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar; Proxy Wars), with art and colors by Marc Oliver (Odyssey Inc., World War Hack), letters and design by Saida Temofonte (Wonder Woman, Star Wars Adventures), the creative team wastes no time blasting readers into the danger zone. And with seven variant covers by a stacked lineup of artists including: Shawn Decker (Doctor Who), Andy Clift (Captain Cosmic), Kieran Squires (Wolvenheart), Megan Huang (Jia and the Nian Monster, Star Wars Adventures), Phillip Sevy (Tomb Raider, The House), Sarah Myer (TMNT: Saturday Morning Adventures), and Keith Williams (The Phantom, Spider-Man)—this new-fangled version of Buck Rogers vs. the Cyber Lords will tear through the stratosphere.
Trapped in a mine in 1919, WWI artillery officer Buck Rogers wakes 500 years later to a world ruled by the Cyber Lords—techno-tyrants who hover above the planet in gravity-defying fortresses, keeping what’s left of humanity under lockdown. But the resistance isn’t done yet. With freedom fighter Wilma Deering at his side, Buck straps on a stolen jetpack, hijacks enemy tech, and leads an all-out assault to take the skies back—and remind the future who fought for it first.
“For almost 100 years, the original Buck Rogers stories have been influencing science fiction, to the point that we take for granted tropes that originated in those stories,” said writer Allan Liska. “Bringing this story to a new generation of fans has been really fun, but so has the excitement of working with so many talented artists to get their interpretations of this iconic character.”
“Adapting Buck Rogers was amazingly fun!” said co-writer Chris Field. “The original Nowlan novels had a great core, which I was able to build a great modern action story around. I would love to do more Buck stories in the future.”
For fans of Flash Gordon, The Rocketeer, and anything that pairs pulp grit with insurgent fire, Buck Rogers vs. the Cyber Lords is the book that rips the jetpack off nostalgia and goes full throttle.
So pick your cover, grab your gear, and join the rebellion before it disappears into orbit—this campaign won’t last long!
