He-Man is stepping back into the spotlight, and Dark Horse Comics and Mattel are making sure he does it in full cinematic glory.
Dark Horse Comics, alongside Mattel, Inc. the global powerhouse behind one of the most legendary brand portfolios on the planet has officially unveiled He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate, an all-new four-issue comic series set directly inside the live-action Masters of the Universe film universe. Yes… that universe.
Perfectly timed with the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios, hitting theaters in the U.S. on June 5, 2026 (with international release rolling out this June), The Wings of Fate #1 is set to soar into comic shops in Summer 2026. This isn’t a side quest this is part of the main storyline.
The creative team? Straight-up stacked. Writing duties are handled by Tim Sheridan (Masters of the Universe: Revolution), with epic visuals from Will Sliney (Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren), bold colors by Israel Silva, and razor-sharp lettering from AndWorld Design. Eternia has never looked this cinematic on the page.
So what’s the story? In the brutal aftermath of Skeletor’s siege on Eternos, the fallout is real and the world is scarred. A broken refugee offers shelter to a mysterious, wounded falcon a single act of compassion that ignites a much bigger destiny. To save her life, he must risk everything, crossing the treacherous Mystic Mountains and seeking help from the legendary, sky-dwelling people of Avion. This is classic Masters of the Universe storytelling mythic, emotional, heroic with fresh energy that bridges the gap between film and comics.
