In addition to their work on Gatchaman, Mad Cave Studios is now bringing another iconic franchise to life: SPEED RACER. This exciting collaboration marks a significant milestone for both companies as they unite to create fresh, modern adaptations of these beloved properties.
Speed Racer (originally known as Mach GoGoGo in Japan), was created by Tatsunoko Production in 1967. It revolutionized the world of anime and global pop culture with its unique blend of high-speed racing, action-packed storylines, and dynamic characters. Over the decades, Speed Racer has maintained a loyal following, inspiring adaptations across various media, including television, film, and video games. Now, Mad Cave Studios will carry the legacy forward with new content that both honors the original series and introduces it to a new generation of fans.
Speed Racer is more than just a racing series—it’s a story of family, perseverance, and innovation, all set against the backdrop of thrilling, high-stakes competition. With its signature fast-paced excitement, memorable characters like Speed, Racer X, Trixie, and the iconic Mach 5 race car, the franchise remains a fan-favorite worldwide. Mad Cave Studios is excited to offer long-time fans and new readers alike the opportunity to experience Speed Racer in a bold new way while maintaining the high standard of storytelling and artwork that both Mad Cave and Tatsunoko Production are known for.
“Speed Racer is one of Tatsunoko’s most beloved properties and we’re excited to partner with Mad Cave Studios to bring new and original stories to fans of all generations,” said Mari Yamauchi, Director of International Business at Tatsunoko Production. “Tatsunoko is incredibly happy with Mad Cave’s work on Gatchaman and we look forward to continuing our journey together with Speed Racer.”
