Highway Wolf, the boundary-pushing musical project from musician and songwriter Mick Hellman alongside his creative partners Tal and Amber Morris, is taking its storytelling to new heights with the release of their debut comic book. The comic follows Purdie, a restless dog, who leaps from his owner’s car, chasing the wild freedom he longs for, only to come face-to-face with the enigmatic lone wolf. “Highway Wolf started as a music-driven storytelling project, but it’s grown into something much bigger—an entire world where music, art, and the wild converge,” says Hellman. “This comic is just the beginning of how we’re bringing that world to life in new ways. It’s been incredible to see this character and this story take shape visually, and I can’t wait for people to dive into it.”
