Inclusive Publisher inks management deal, eyeing expansion in Film and Television
FairSquare Graphics, the trailblazing family, immigrant, and minority-owned publisher dedicated to amplifying diverse voices in comics and graphic novels, is excited to announce a strategic management agreement with Sandstone Artists. This partnership is set to explore new horizons for FairSquare Graphics’ original content in film, television, and multimedia.
Founded in 2019, FairSquare Graphics has made waves with its mission to elevate the work of underrepresented creators, including immigrants, minorities, and LGBTQ+ artists, through its visionary publishing approach. With its guiding mantra, “Comics from the rest of us,” FairSquare Graphics has built a dedicated audience and an impressive catalog that celebrates inclusive and innovative storytelling.
Under this new agreement, Sandstone Artists, a premier entertainment company known for its dedication to discovering and celebrating unique talent, will manage FairSquare Graphics’ roster of intellectual properties and develop them for film, television, and digital platforms.
Led by Head of Production Kevin Nicklaus, Sandstone Artists Partner and Head of Production, Kevin Nicklaus, will act as point for the relationship. He brings an established track record of success in adapting content for the screen, including notable projects such as The Beginning After the End (Crunchyroll/Fuji TV) and a series of horror films based on the works of renowned Japanese manga artist Junji Ito. With deep expertise in adapting books, comics, and other IP for various entertainment media, Nicklaus and the Sandstone Artists management team are uniquely positioned to shepherd FairSquare Graphics’ projects into new realms.

FairSquare Graphics has released over 45 titles since its creation in 2019, including the hit graphic novels NOIR IS THE NEW BLACK, A FOX IN MY BRAIN, INTERTWINED, NO KIDDING and the Eisner/Harvey Award nominated A BOY NAMED ROSE. The publisher just started a ManFra (French Manga) program with III-THE THREE MUSKETEERS, adapted from the Alexander Dumas classic and the horror genre with the just released MESCHUGGE, a unique Scandinavian Jewish serial killer tale. They’re also promoting the latest issue of their flagship series MUTINY: BLACK GIRL MAGIK, available on Kickstarter until November 15, 2024.
