Insight Editions: DC Collecting the Multiverse-The Art of Sideshow Book Review
Today in the Toyverse, we take a trip down a new and exciting book from the folks over at Insight Editions. This new book is called, DC Collecting the Multiverse-The Art of Sideshow. This stunning masterpiece is written by Andrew Farago, and the author has an incredible task of trying to showcase the best of the best from SideShow Collectibles and the DC Comics brand. So as always, let me break this book down between the words and the artwork, and share my thoughts on this fun SideShow companion.
Story:
The story painted throughout this book is one that is comparable to a time capsule. Author Andrew Farago has crafted a well versed summary of some of SideShow’s most impressive pieces. As you look as each picture, you get an amazing retrospective about various collectibles from the company. The book flows as you travel from the sixth scale figures, all the way down to the amazing statues. The author gives you an amazing insight to what Sideshow is all about. The big thing for me is the connection you get with the words as you go from page to page. One other thing I want to point out, is the authors talent of making you feel invested in the products being showcased. That is never an easy road to execute, but Mr. Farago did an amazing job of getting a reader invested into what is shown.
Illustrations:
One of the shining aspects of this book is the art that is inside of it. The pictures themselves make this book very eye catching. From behind the scenes shots, to the breathtaking final product, the SideShow pictures instantly connect you to the work produced. Each page inside is truly a work of art. The pictures in this book serve as a masterful display of the products SideShow has been able to produce. The art contained within the pages of this book will have you salivating to hold the actual product. And for many, they already do, but if you don’t having these pictures in book form, is the best next thing.
Overall, this book is the perfect piece for any DC fan. I do think this book is an amazing companion to those who own Sideshow products. However, this book is one that would be great for any fan of toy photography or just collectibles in general as well.
If you want to discuss the book with the author of it, or find out more about their work, throw a follow to @andrewfarago.
Once again, I can’t express enough that this was an amazing book to talk about. I want to thank the team over at Insight Editions and Sideshow for making today’s review possible. My final verdict as far as a rating is 5/5!
