Marvel's Eyes of Wakanda Showrunner Sets His Sights On Another Kind of Magic

Launching today on the Zoop crowdfunding platform is The Magical. The launch is a collaboration between some of comics, film, and tv’s heaviest hitters.

The creative team on The Magical is comprised of Todd Harris, who is the showrunner for the Eyes of Wakanda animated series from Marvel, which just recently premiered on Disney + last week. He has also worked on movies like John Wick, Avengers: Endgame, and many other major Hollywood blockbusters.

Joining Harris on this creative journey is one of the most decorated comic book inkers of his generation. Mark Morales is a multi-award winning comic industry veteran who has worked on every major title imaginable, from X-Men, and The Avengers, to Batman, Justice League, Star Wars and more.

Rounding out the creative team is A.K. Lovelace, a comic book artist that has worked in film, television and advertising. He is the illustrator and co-creator of Webtoon and comicbook series City of Walls, and current director of media and design at the Harlem School of the Arts.

Joining the core creators with exclusive variant covers for this one-shot comic book are superstar artists, Khary Randolph, and Ed McGuinness. For backers, in addition to the exclusive variant covers, there will be opportunities for signatures, original artwork, and other limited, exclusive items not to be found anywhere else.

The Magical is a story of three men, their lives and the supernatural forces that cause their inevitable clash.
After surviving World War One, two veterans from different countries form a friendship. Jack, a reserved black man from the United States and Thomas, an extroverted white Englishman become stage magicians performing throughout Europe. They become wildly successful, thanks in no small part to the fact that one of them actually has strange magical powers.
At the same time, in a defeated Germany, a ruthless young man named Ulrich climbs the ranks in the newly formed Nazi party. Possessing his own magical abilities he intends to use them to restore his country to power and glory.
