PRAY FOR DEATH IS COMING TO KICKSTARTER!
ZUDA COMICS’ FIRST USER SUBMITTED CONTEST WINNER WILL SEE PRINT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A DELUXE HARDCOVER!
The award-winning creator of Monster Elementary is bringing his first published comic to print for the first time!
After the successful release of two of Monster Elementary graphic novels, both of which won medals at the Independent Publisher Book Awards, and the hit, serial killer/western, The Kid and The Ripper, Writer and Creator Nicholas Doan is dusting off his first published story for print! This will be an excellent collectible for old fans of Zuda comics and an unearthed treasure for new readers that discover This thriller for the first time.
Written by Nicholas Doan and illustrated by Daniele Serra, Pray For Death is a violent and pulpy serial killer thriller about a Killer with a vendetta against god who chooses to use religious imagery in his murders. Detective Jenkins is hated by her peers, but revered for her results. When she discovers an unknown boy that refuses to speak at one of the crime scenes, she finds herself protecting him while trying to catch a killer and figure out the secret of the boy’s identity.

Pray For Death, is an 84 page hardcover graphic novel, beautifully illustrated by Hellboy and Dylan Dog artist, Daniele Serra. It was the first user-submitted contest winner of DC’s webcomic imprint, Zuda Comics and features a brand new cover by Co-Creator, Daniele Serra!
“It has always bothered me that this story never saw print.” Said Doan. “Dani’s art is phenomenal and printing it on high quality paper in an oversized format is what this art deserves!”
Doan’s fascination with Serial Killers started early and has only grown over time. “I love vampires, werewolves and all kinds of monsters, but I think Serial Killers are the scariest of all monsters because they are just as horrible and disgusting, but they are real and could very easily be your next door neighbor.”
With Monster Elementary, Monster Elementary and the Egyptian Curse! The Kid and The Ripper, and Misfit Island, Nicholas Doan has had four successfully funded Kickstarter Projects. “Kickstarter was a wild and emotional ride the first time and round two proved to be just as challenging and rewarding,” said Doan. “To know that there are so many other people out there that want to see more stories is overwhelming. This process of working directly with the public to bring my creative dreams to life makes this a rewarding experience every time. Every single backer has earned my respect and gratitude.”
Pray For Death is in Pre-launch on Kickstarter now with lots of great rewards! The campaign will go live on September 20th, 2025!
