REVIEW: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #53.LR
Sin Eater (1st Appearance Spectacular SPIDER-MAN #107) has an obsession to destroy people who abuse their authority and thus “sinned”. He decided to “absorb the sins of the world”. He wanted to purge evildoers from a society where nobody else could punish them. He tries to summon, and defeat Morlun on his own.
In the last issue of Amazing Spider-man #53, Peter Parker Peter is forced to relive the events after One More Day (Amazing Spider-Man #544); his dealing with Mephisto to let Aunt May live a little longer from a gunshot wound sustained during the events of Civil War event and the Back in Black storyline. It turns out that his waking dream has been induced by Kindred (Amazing Spider-Man Vol 5 #1, 2018).
In the current issue of Amazing Spider-man #53, the Order of the Web (1st Appearance Amazing Spider-Man: The Sins of Norman Osborn #1) To include Doctor Strange and the Black Cat, have traveled to the Astral Plane to find Peter Parker. Instead they mostly end up battling figures from Spider-Man“s life that have been transformed into evil caricatures.
The main part of this issue surrounds the meeting of Morlun and the Sin-Eater. Morlun (1ST Appearance in Amazing Spider-Man Vol 2 #30, June 2001) is one of a group of beings, called the Inheritors, that must regularly feed on, they must feed on avatar of the Spider totem. The Sin-Eater has used this information to devise a trap for Morlun; However, it seems he has bitten off more than he can chew.
Even though it was a departure from what could have been expected sequentially to issue #53, it stilled flowed nicely in its own self-contained segment. The only complaint that I currently have with the whole storyline is the inclusion of certain Spider figures such as Anya Corazon, and Silk who now seem to be is doing nothing but talking. Also did I miss something, but I thought Black cat was with them?
As for the art, you can tell which characters the artist prefers. The panels with Miles Morales and Morlun are outstanding. The rest of the panels are fine and do not take away from the story.
I give this 2.8 stars out of 5 stars. The Fallen Order storyline has been the most beautifully written Spider-man story that I have looked forward to weekly in a long time. This issue was kind of weird cause though it has lots of action, but it slows down the momentum of the previous issues.
