Ice Cream Man Volume 9 “Heavy Narration” contains four chapters of stories, Chapters 33 to 36. The stories are, The Kind of Story I Want to Write Chapter 33; Two Tramps Chapter 34; The Book of Necessary Monsters Chapter 35, and Whale Song Chapter 36.

By now as a comic book fan if you have not heard of The Ice Cream Man, you’re not in your local comic book store enough. The Ice Cream Man has been considered by many as one of the best horror comics in the market today. Month after month W. Maxwell Prince out does himself with unique stories that are sure to scare you as a reader. What is amazing about this series is you can jump into it at any issue as the stories themselves are self contained by each issue. So if you have not read Ice Cream Man, it is never too late.

Chapters 33 to 36 are a little different from the normal Ice Cream Man horror stories. These four chapters are less scary and more depressing as M. Maxwell Prince’s focus seems to be more on the person and their condition as apposed to the normal story that aims to frighten you. Each of the four stories does a great job making you think about your own condition. Failure is a part of life and that failure is experienced by us each at different times and in many different ways. That is no different in these four stories.

Written by W. Maxwell Prince who has authored One week in the Library for Image Comics, The Electric Sublime for IDW, Judas The Last days for IDW, Swan Songs for Image and more.
