REVIEW: King Spawn #22
King Spawn 22 starts where issue 21 ended, with EXODUS harvesting human brains working to unlock hidden secrets they may hold. I don’t know about you but I think that is a great way to open any comic book. Immediately the image on the first few pages draw you in.
We know from issue 21 that Sam Burke is kidnapped as he is the next brain to be taken. Fast forward to issue 22 and thankfully Spawn was there to step in.
If you enjoy horror and thriller then issue 22 will be right up your alley. In this issue we also find out more concerning Lady Madeleine and her connection with EXODUS.
We then cut away to see Cyan and Terry at each other necks. Emotions are running hi as they let out their frustrations on one another as they struggle over the same situation. Then a knock on the door, Cyan immediately finds herself in trouble with a helpless Terry frantically working to save her.
The ending of issue 22 is a shocking visual that any horror fan will love. The art by Javi Fernandez and colors by Ivan Nunes is absolutely perfect. Sean Lewis and Todd McFarlane do an amazing job of knitting 2 stories throughout this issue. It is a fun read that ends in a place that is not expected. It will leave you with more questions than answers, that is for sure. Issue 23 has a lot of explaining to do!
