Review: MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN #30

Story Thus far:

In the last tie-in issue Miles Morales #2, Miles had teamed up with his clone Shift hoping to find a way to help the other clones or at least stop them.  Also, Miles gets a wardrobe change.  In the current issue, three stories give us a little more insight into a day and night with Miles.  With cameos by Starling; the Vulture; Taskmaster.  One of the stories alludes to a future fallout with Peter Parker.

Art:

Artist: Carmen Carnero, Color Artist: Erick Arciniega, Letterer: VC Cory Petit.  In every single story there were some great panels that could have double as cover art or even a poster.  Unfortunately, the usage of the new costume wasn’t consistent.

Script:

This is the Miles Morales I can get behind.  He is just a kid still trying to do the right thing.  All the while occasionally taking some time for himself to do teenage stuff.  Love it.  The big thing is that we finally got away from the clone Saga mess.  The dialogue is just as campy as I need a Miles Morales book to be.  Even better there is a dialogue in the last story that strikes true and feels like Miles will come into his own.

SCORE: 3.8/5

Speculation:

1st  appearance of Paola. 1st  appearance of Miles (Ultimate Fallout #4).  The 1st  appearance of the new suit was Miles Morales #29. # Spider-man #29).  1st appearance of Tiana Toomes.  Miles Morales: Spider-Man #5).  I wish that I could tell readers this was the first kiss, but that actually happened  in Miles Morales: Spider-Man 22.
