REVIEW: Rogue Planet #3
I’ll freely admit it. I have no problem with being that guy that yells directions at the TV screen. Especially when I know they are about to get it. But it never really happened while reading a comic…that is until I started reading Cullen Bunn’s Rogue Planet. There are so many moments when sheer terror jumps out to you from the fantastically creepy art by Andy Mcdonald.  It“s almost like a reflex; that the words just come out of my mouth. What makes this title so special is that it is able to capture all the things I would say during a horror movie.
Starting off with”Nope”. Hey Man, we need to go check out the creepy ass situation right now, because there is blood on the floor. I’m telling you right now that’s why I couldn’t be a good writer, because if I would have ended the story too quickly. Such as Johnny heard a noise the captain would have said let’s get the hell out here …The End.
“Don“t go out there! or Don’t go in there!”“Let’s face it the scavenge team in Rogue Planet are not geniuses and constantly ignore obvious danger even strange noises coming from behind it. You know they shouldn’t go , and yet, my incessant yelling of this phrase does not cause the character to rethink what he is about to.
WTF?!”“””I shout this out in a combination of shock and disgust. No matter if you saw it coming or not you may shout this phrase out of complete shock or out of complete stupidity. But this phrase can also be said in disgust.“M** F**** RUN!”“””I don“t think I’ve have ever yelled this phrase so much even while watching a movie. Or otherwise “SHOOT IT!!”“ ”“ too many times the characters waits out the situation while I’m yelling this phrase and wishing that my voices could travel through the pages and knock some sense into this guy.
“LEAVE HER/HIM!”“ ”“ Finishing out the list is probably my favorite line to yell even when I“m in a movie theater. All too often do the characters in a horror movie go back for the friend that has just been grabbed by the foot or has just been shot in the leg. But when they go back for him or her, both characters end up dying. I have told my friends on countless occasions that I would never go back for them, that I would save myself every time and leave them to die.
Suffice it to say I want to see this get adapted to a movie really bad its too good not to, and as much of a roll as Oni Entertainment has been , I know they can make it happen.
5 stars out of 5.
