REVIEW: Spider-Man 2099 – Dark Genesis Part 1

Spider-Man 2099 – Dark Genesis Part 1 begins in Nueva York, Earth 2099. Carnage is on the loose and in need of Blood. The city is in chaos ever since the Black Card Elite has been defeated. This was suppose to bring peace to the city, instead of peace we have a lower class of individuals rising up to fill the void left behind by Black Card Elite’s fall.

Spider-Man might be over his head with Carnage inflicting pain as his thirst for blood grows stronger. The Skyrise district is being ransacked by an armed mob. Spider-Man along with Spider-Woman are working together to be calm to the city but Carnage has other plans.

It seems like there is an effort to also dismiss the work Spider-Man has done to bring down the Black Card Elite. As the city seems unsafe for the average citizen, news organizations like the Alchenews are blaming the rise of vigilante super heroes like Spider-Man for the current situation.

Outmatched by Carnage, this Spider duo will need support. This leads to several guest appearances in this issue that we won’t spoil, but you will want to check this issue out. This is the first issue of five for Dark Genesis and the writing was done well in setting the foundation for what looks to be a great series.  Spider-Man 2099 issue 1 is a must read!
