REVIEW: U & I #4 of 6
Alright cover, not a huge fan of it but it’s alright. I like the color sinside the U & I text that’s creative but the blue is a bit too boring I would maybe like it more if it were black and white instead of blue and white but that’s my opinion.
NO credit page at the beginning, that’s weird.
Not a huge fan of the art style but I’m liking the overall character designs. I guess I don’t like the art style because it feels too much like it’s trying to be an anime. The exchange between the hand and the bishop was sort of absurdist humor, I liked it.
Interesting use of changing the rendering style to something more realistic to drive a romantic point over that was neat. The rest so far has been kinda boring. I really dig the whole demon spawn change in art style thing, the cots between the real world and the hellish world is very cool. THe action is alright, the art style is better given this new context but still nothing too interesting.
Ok so like a strong 3.5/5 it’s not bad, it’s just kinda boring overall and the whole climax lasted a very few amount of pages, the battle with the supposedly biggest toughest guy was won with Drain-O, wtf. I did enjoy the last part where they tied together the uncle that tried to get money from the inheritance and turns out he was being persecuted by the mafia, only to see his niece in their want list. That was a nice way of tying all the loose ends together. I think this comic would benefit from more panels especially in the action parts, and they could’ve spent less time on the romance, the only part that really mattered I think was the scene in the rooftop and that could’ve been used for both scenes. Maybe he’s up there alone and she meets him with the food and they have that whole worthiness talk, and then the beauty thing and then we get the fight. THat would’ve saved them at least 2-3 pages that could’ve gone into the fight and made it more epic. OTher than that, it’s alright I guess.
