G’Day Crusaders,
This is Dodgy86 in the mix bringing you Action Cat and Adventure Bug # 1 by Art Baltazar, Franco, Scoot McMahon and Kurt Wood.
Today’s another day at the Aw Yeah Comics store for owner Hammond the bear and his staff Cornelius and Alowicious, sorting back issues into their rightful places and ensuring their customers are being served. Until the dreaded Evil Cat enters the store wielding a Lizard Gun, once fired it turn those into… well, Lizards. He calls out Action Cat and you can’t keep a good cat down, he accepts the challenge and goes into battle against Evil Cat and things don’t go as planned… Evil Cat is the victor (for how long?) as he roams around town as his victims are left shivering. To what length will Action Cat and Adventure Bug go to bring order?
There are other stories including Stop versus Marquaid, Spot is the superdog who wears a cape as he tries to rescue a crystal from the pincers of the alien crab monster Marquaid.
And the final story is Meteor Mite who also dons superpowers by touching a mysterious crystal found in a garden nearby and then fights aliens.
This is an anthology book of five different stories within 30 pages of fun, what eluded my interests is that the stories are linked which is not obvious from the offset yet a pleasant surprise. Baltazar is involved throughout and the art and coloring is consistent considering a rotation of artists were used. The art and tone of the book reminds me of The Cartoon Cartoon show from the late 1990’s to early 2000’s, this is an all ages book with a touch of humour that adults will enjoy.
If you’d like to read something different, stimulating and less serious, it’s definately worth a look. Do ya’self a favor and check it out!
