G’Day Crusaders,
This is Dodgy in the mix bringing you Action Comics #967 by Dan Jurgens with art by Tyler Kirkham and Arif Pianto (colors), letters by Dave Sharpe.
They are from a world of absolute turmoil, the role of L’call and Zade (The Godslayers) are to time-travel to the past to prevent it from happening. Man of Steel Part 1 opens with these two kick-ass looking warriors hunting Superman for his role in their future!
Which Superman is it?
There is some quality story telling in this book, the dialogue between Superman and his son Jon provided was warm and bubbly as well interesting and the conversation between Clark and Lois. Jurgens handled these interchangeable stories very well making it fun to read and exciting with the action. I absolutely love Lex Luther as the anti-hero, this in particular is why I’d read Action Comics.
The art in this book is absolutely gorgeous, I loved the background art in particular the forest scene where Superman and Jon were roaming and the world being destroyed looked absolutely awesome! Kirkham and Pianto compliment Jurgen’s writing, the team also give us Kirby-like warriors (The Godslayers) and spectacular fight scenes.
I am not a fan of Superman comics nor would I actively read them, this is one I’d definitely recommend. Has cool characters and beautiful art. Do ya’self a favor and check it out!
