REVIEW: Army of Darkness: Furious Road #2

Let’s judge this book by its cover… It’s full on Ash as we get a cover worthy of this book, Ash stand his ground with his trusty chainsaw hand and shotgun. What more could you ask for.

Check out my review for issue #1 for a quick recap.

So a Reverend, a Nun, a Werewolf, a Witch, Dracula’s Daughter and Frankenstein’s Monster walk into a S-Mart. Now stop me if you’ve heard this one. What might sound like the build up to a really bad joke is actually the recap for this book. Looking for the Necronomicom, a demonic book bound in the skin of a human face (gross) the team meets its chosen protector Ash, the handed former shelf stacker turned hermit. Unwilling to part with the book Ash joins the team and head to “Alive” the only sanctuary for the living still standing where Humans and Supernatural creatures fight side by side to stop the undead armies from taking over the world. If you know Ash you’ll love this title if you’re new to this world you’ll still love this title. It has the right mix of comedy and action with some truly gross out moments as the team slash and squish their way to safety.

The art inside is nice with some of the panels of Ash looking exactly like Bruce Campbell, the story is easy enough to follow, they want the book to send all the demons back to hell. Simple. But to be honest you’re not reading for the story, it’s the over the top kills and Ash’s one liners that make this book worth while.
Is it keeps this pace it’ll keep me coming back.

4 squishy stars of gross loveliness from me.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
