REVIEW: ASH (Academy of Super Heroes) Vol. 1

Art & Writing by Loran
Publisher: Sloth Comics

G“Day All,

This is Dodgy86 in the mix, bringing you my comic review”¦ The wonder from Down Under brings you ASH (Academy of Super Heroes) Art and Story by Loran, published by Sloth Comics.

Not many people can say they love their work, but in doing this review I had an absolute ball!! Loran had done a great work telling this story. In the first few pages the action begins, come the team of students from a school of gifted youngsters (sounds familiar you say?) in their prime of causing trouble and unaware of the mayhem they cause to the adults in the school. As aspiring superheroes their ‘super-villains’ are themselves!

From the first few pages this is where the fun starts, beautifully laid out with characters that are loud and you find yourself wanting to see more of them!! In the first chapter you meet the monstrous when blushing Tatum, the mischievous chameleon Leon, the hair raising Kami, the ever saturated Eve, invisible boy George and young dragon Kiai. Lead by their headmistress Zeta Eldridge whose true identity gets revealed. In the second chapter you get acquainted with almost a different roster.

Loran does an excellent of creating short yet formative introductions of each character without losing focus of the storyline, making it an easy read. ASH is pure fun to read, it“s cheeky and there are some laugh out loud moments. It has some adult humour which means it“s good for both old and young readers alike.

At times it“s like Power Puff Girls meets The Regular Show meets Archie!! It’s really nice to read to read something less serious and gives you a good laugh in the process.

I heavily recommend it!
