REVIEW: Empty Zone #5

Empty Zone #5
Creator/writer/artist Jason Shawn Alexander
Colours by Iuis Nct
Letters by Sherard Jackson
Publisher: Image Comics

Let’s judge this book by its cover… Planet of the pink apes. The artwork is great. The apes face is amazingly well done. Not a fan of a blank background, but that’s just me.

Now if you’re sitting comfortably we can begin… We start on a flashback from over 8 years ago as Corinne tells how she was ordered to kill her whole special ops team. Sometimes secrets aren’t the only things that don’t stay buried. With cybernetic arms, human/animal hybrids called Feral’s, machine gun-toting Zombies and a guy with what looks like tentacles comings out of his mouth this book is crammed with something for everyone. From the moody art style to intriguing story this book had me wanting more pages by the end.

For grabbing my attention and leaving me in awe, I have to give this one 4 stars. Jason Shawn Alexander has a winner here.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
