Review: Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2

There are many mysteries wrapped in Marvel’s latest Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man issue,  from what will happen to the Peter Parker’s neighbor, to how a his elderly neighbor just seems to know too much. However, one unsolved mystery that fans may have overlooked concerns two  orange (mutant) children introduced in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1.

Both boy and girl could be twins, with each sporting orange skin tones and hair, the children were left in Peter’s apartment by his now missing (kidnapped?) neighbor.  The kids have to be taken care of while Spider-man find her so he calls on Johnny Storm  to baby sit.

The strange orange mutant kids fall into background noise as the latest threat comes right to the Spider-Man’s doorstep.   In the meantime Spider-Man enlist the help of Detective Sheri Sebbens (1st appearance)  to find some background information a strange creeper keeping an eye on his apartment building.

All this action eventually leads up to the first costume appearance of “The Rumour” (1st actual was in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1.

This issue was a little funky for me, because along with revealing the identities of some new characters Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2  has the brother and sister  that are stunningly similar to another brother and sister from  Marvel’s latest X-Men event, Extermination, Maxime and Manon(Maxime can manipulate emotions while Manon implants psychic bombs).  Both boy and girl could be twins, with each sporting colorless skin tones and hair, the children were rescued by the X-Men Blue team when an anti-mutant bigot attempted to attack them. The kids would be taken to the Xavier Institute, where Kitty Pryde tried to find some background information on them to find and contact their parents.  Why is that important? Because if the same boy and girl then Extermination #1 is the 1st appearance.  If they are not,  then Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Vol 2 #2  is the 1st appearance
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Vol 2 #2 comes in two covers; the Cover A Regular is by Andrew C Robinson ; the Cover B is an Incentive by Bryan Hitch Variant (1:25) Cover
