Review: Jean Grey #2

OK, with Marvel’s propensity to  cancel their female lead books; exhibit A – Mockingbird; and cancelling books on the “QT”;  exhibit B – Spider-Woman, I have to question, why even bother looking at this book.  I mean, in the grand scheme of things, its only get cancelled right?

Please Dennis Hopeless, leave Marvel, join DC and work on either Batgirl or Birds of Prey, historically weaker books to be sure but at least DC are committed to them!

If anyone really cares, the scores for Jean Grey #2 are below.

Writing – 3.5 Stars (Not a big fan of bratty Jean, though Hopeless writes her well)
Art – 3 Stars (Based on the re-tweets from issue and taking on said feedback; the art is marvellously Marvel)
Colors – 3.5 Stars

Johnny "The Machine" Hughes
I am a long time comic book fan, being first introduced to Batman in the mid to late 70's. This led to a appreciation of classic artists like Neal Adams and Jim Aparo. Moving through the decades that followed, I have a working knowledge of a huge raft of characters with a fondness for old school characters like JSA and The Shadow

Currently reading a slew of Bat Books, enjoying a mini Marvel revival, and the host of The Definative Crusade and Outside the Panels whilst also appearing on No-Prize Podcast on the Undercover Capes Podcast Network
