Don’t judge a book by its cover…It looks like it’s straight off a video game sleeve. The detail is amazing. Each brick looks individual. Top marks.
A long, long time ago in the last issue…No recap. Unclear on who is who or what is what.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming…We start with Sander and Lizel, the two from the cover. Someone has taken Sanders family and he is impersonating a guard to find them. Lizel heads out to find out what she can while Sander try’s to keep his cover. Learning the location of the man who has his family he sets out to find them. He travels underground to a hidden part of the city where he finds Pont, the man who has his family and an ex friend Kendal now working for him. Pont plans to kill the leader of the Guard, Killian Grey by switching out his own men for Greys guards. Sanders heads back before his cover is blown and meets a masked man fighting Ponts men. Who is this masked man??? None other than Killain Grey himself. To be continued.
It’s a pretty straight forward plot. Bad guys vs Rebels. The hero’s family is taken and he try’s to get them back. His friends might not be his friends. You get the idea. It might be simple but the art is anything but. The attention to detail is breathtaking. No panel is rushed or over looked.
It’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye…We don’t get much action until he last few pages. A fight scene with some armed men. They’re taken out without any killing.
The Good, the Bad and the Meh…
The Good – The art is the best I’ve seen in a while. The hero is driven and solid.
The Bad – Bit much going on that we won’t know if we’ve not read the previous issues.
The Meh – The story has been done a lot in everything from movies and TV to other comics and books.
It’s not bad by any stretch. It’s just unoriginal. With that it’s still a 3 star comic.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
