REVIEW: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #12

With the Rangers cut off from their powers and Zords after an attack from Lord Drakkon and the Black Dragon Zord, Rita has taken over Angel Grove and has her eyes set on the world. Tommy and Billy tried to stop the Black Dragon Zord and found themselves teleported to a dark and twisted future reality run by Rita and Lord Drakkon and policed by an army of Black Rangers. As Tommy and Billy come face to face with Drakkon he takes off his helmet and reveals himself to be none other than an older, evil version of Tommy aye aye aye aye aye.

I can’t lie, this title has been one of my favourites each month and this issue is a prime example why. The war of the Rangers looks like it could be its own mini series and the glimpse into what could have happened if Tommy stayed with Rita is fantastic. Seeing Zords from Rangers yet to come and the sad loss of one of the Rangers at Tommy’s hands make this one of the best issues in the run. If this series keeps this pace it’s going to keep its place in my top five books each month.

Great writing and gorgeous art makes this a five-star book.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
