REVIEW: Rick and Morty #26

Whether you“re a fan of the show, the comic or funny hysterical stuff to begin with, Rick and Morty #26 has enough laughs to have you rolling around on the floor and keep you there. Written by Kyle Starks. The comedy and inventive random story line flows so smooth. You“ll be done with it before you know it wishing there were more pages. From page to page, panel to panel, Rick and Morty is filled with laughs and plenty of story that doesn“t make sense but you“re totally cool with it. Illustrated by CJ Cannon blends in perfect fashion that mirrors the show. Know by the end of this comic you“ll be in a better mood no matter what kind of day you had. It sure pulled me out of a funk of a day.

Like I said the story is random, but that“s Rick and Morty“s style. It“s got socially awkward warmongering aliens who want to conquer the earth as well as making it human free. The government has no choice but to go to Rick. Rick is hanging out at home with his family and these next few pages really got me hooked into this comic. It“s a riot of laughs for the reader as these characters bounce their discomfort and distaste for each other, but it“s all in love. I was in borderline tears of laughter. Morty really gets a speech and some good advice as he works on his science project volcano. Rick points out that you need actual magma for a volcano and not baking soda. Points out that Morty baked a volcano and I literally spit my drink out on the table. Just missed the comic. The government shows up and recruits Rick who had prior experience with the attacking aliens. But it“s Jerry (Morty“s dad) off to save the day! Or ruin the day! Of course Rick has to come in and fix everything.

With plenty of laughs and fun art scenes full of the crazy characters, Rick and Morty #26 is the perfect book on the shelf if you’re looking for a good laugh. Comic file pull box full of serious, violent stories? Need something to pull you out of the void of all that suspenseful, crazed adventure? Then go over to the Oni Press books and pick this one up. Even your other comics will be cracking a smile through super punches. Not only will you have some out loud laughs, but you will also learn a valuable lesson on lawn care that I can only of agreed on since I was old enough to push a mower. You won“t need to backtrack or back issue with this one either folks. Unless you want to. It“s just great awesome funny fun. Rick and Morty #26 gets five out of five stars!
