REVIEW: Rowans Ruins #2

Rowans Ruins #2
Written by Mike Carey
Art by Mike Perkins
Colours by Andy Troy
Letters by Jim Campbell

Let’s judge this book by its cover… Not a great cover. It’s good but it doesn’t grab my attention. The simple blues do make the blood-red splatter look better than if it were all in full colour.

What do you when you find out you’re staying in a haunted house? Run away right…wrong, if you’re Katy Shackley You try to solve the mystery of the what happened.
Katy is attacked by a ghost while staying in her friend’s house, a house that years ago her friend Emily and sister Margaret were attacked by an unknown man. But when no one believes her she makes it her mission to find out what actually happen and who is responsible for not only the attack but the house full of ghosts.

This was actually better than I thought it was going to be. It started strong, dipped a little in the middle but ended strongly. Overall an interesting story of murder and the supernatural. The art is very nice. The faces are done well and each panel is full of detail.

Having missed issues 1 and jumped in on issue 2 I didn’t feel lost even without a recap page. So overall a good title. This one gets a strong 3 stars.

Hey, I'm Shane.
Been into comics since I was about 5. Loved watching Wonder Woman and superboy in the 80's.
I Started reading seriously about 10 years ago. Began to collect a few comic series, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Superman Batman all pre flashpoint. Being honest that was my favourite run.
