Review: Savage Sword of Conan #7

This new adventure of our favorite Cimmerian begins in Shadizar near the turbulent Zamora, one night Conan is through the streets of Shadizar trying to get some rest from the violence when suddenly the violence finds him, a violent assault scene is shown in front of the barbarian and it is inevitable that Conan takes part in the act, perhaps the luxurious outfit of one of the victims caused the Cimmerian to dare to intervene, the quick action of Conan impressed the man named Maradius Mahtir that immediately hires Conan as his bodyguard.

Maradius is a gambler and his stay in Shadizar is due to some pending issues that would be resolved in one of the most luxurious games venues in the area “The Demon’s Den”, only that Maradius forgot to tell Conan a small detail: The fortune that he owes to one of the most dangerous men in Shadizar, Kero the Callous, Kero is a reasonable man and he knows that those matters are settled tossing some cards, only that an unfortunate and unexpected incident will cause Conan to be known now as “Conan the Gambler”.

I am a big fan of Conan comics, I have a few comic books from the times of John Buscema and they are from my most precious collection and I really love reading a good title of “The Savage Sword of Conan” again, Jim Zub brings us an excellent story which combined with the talent of Patch Zircher make this title revive its great splendor.

Esta nueva aventura de nuestro Cimmeriano favorito comienza en Shadizar cerca de Zamora, Conan se encuentra por las calles de Shadizar intentando escapar de la acciÃ³n por una noche cuando de pronto la acciÃ³n lo encuentra a Ã©l, una violenta escena de asalto se muestra frente al bÃ¡rbaro y es inevitable que Conan evite mÃ¡s derramamiento de sangre, quizÃ¡s la lujosa vestimenta de una de las vÃctimas hizo que el Cimmeriano se animara a intervenir, la rÃ¡pida acciÃ³n de Conan impresionÃ³ tanto al hombre llamado Maradius Mahtir que inmediatamente contratÃ³ a Conan como guardaespaldas.

Maradius es un jugador y su estadÃa en Shadizar se debe a algunos asuntos pendientes que serÃan resueltas en uno de los lugares de juegos mÃ¡s lujosos de la zona “The Demon’s Den”, solo que Maradius olvidÃ³ decir a Conan un pequeÃ±o detalle: La fortuna que debe a uno de los hombres mÃ¡s peligrosos, Kero the Callous, Kero es un hombre razonable y sabe que esos asuntos se saldan con una partida de cartas, solo que un desafortunado e inesperado incidente harÃ¡ que Conan pase a ser de Conan the Barbarian a Conan the Gambler.

Yo soy un gran fanÃ¡tico de Conan, tengo unos cuantos comics de la Ã©poca de John Buscema guardados y son de mi colecciÃ³n mÃ¡s preciada y realmente amo leer un buen tÃtulo de “The Savage Sword of Conan” nuevamente, Jim Zub nos trae una excelente historia la cual combinada con el talento de Patch Zircher hacen que este tÃtulo reviva a su gran esplendor.
